Following the gruesome murder of the university student whose lifeless body was found lying in a room in Githurai, Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested the man believed to have killed her.

According to a report by DCI, the student of Kiriri Women's University was brutally killed in a guest room and her killer left the scene. Her neck had deep cuts; an indication that her killer had clear intentions of ending her life. The 23-year-old student was studying Business Administration in her third year in the said university.
After a long hunt for her murderer, detectives finally nabbed the man who was reported to have mercilessly killed her inside the room. He then silently left before her body was found the following day. It was revealed that her boyfriend laid a trap for her death.
The incident happened shortly after a meeting with the said boyfriend 15 kilometres from their meeting place in Githurai town. Detectives say that the boyfriend tricked her into the guest room where he killed her. The boyfriend who was identified as Makokha is also reported to have killed his brother, his nephew and the brother's wife by burning them inside their house.
Before the burial of his 3 kins, Makokha attacked his other family members. He was arrested and remanded in Kakamega GK Prison but later released under unclear circumstances. It is then that he went after his girlfriend.
