Athletics Kenya mourns Agnes Tirop in an emotional post; says Kenya has lost a jewel who was one of the fastest rising athletics giants at the international stage.
"Just last month she broke the women-only record in the women's 10km at Road to Records Race in Germany, timing 30:01.
We pray that God may grant strength to family and friends at this difficult time." the statement reads.
Tirop was found lying lifeless at their home in !ten, Elgeyo Marakwet county, after she was allegedly stabbed by her estranged husband.

According to police the two had marital problems for the better part of this year.
Agnes Tirop had even moved out of her rural home and she was staying in a rented apartment.
Her husband is called Emmanuel Ibrahim Kipleting.
According to police the two were trying to mend their difference and had even made a great progress.
Yesterday, Kipleting had invited Agnes Tirop to their rural home,The two love birds spent the better part of yesterday night together.
They even took pictures which were found in Agnes Tirop phone.
They looked Happy an inlove.
Police believe that the husband found love messages in Agnes Tirop phone when she was sleeping .
It is believed that Agnes hooked up with another person when she was estranged from her husband.
The message irked the husband and he revenged by beheading her and stabbing her several times.
